Lucid Hallucinations

In Western culture, the communication between the conscious and subconscious is deeply studied in psychoanalysis, trying to make sense of the mind and emotions, however, in Eastern culture, Buddhism explains that it is a way of listening to our body. In the same way, everything is connected because we are human beings and we share similar experiences, what differentiates us is the way we interpret those signals or dream experiments.

The LUCID HALLUCINATIONS series, which the production takes place during my artist residency in Lagos, is exactly about that bridge of communication between the conscious and the subconscious, between the abstract and the figurative. That thin line that separates parallel and at the same time intertwined realities, that dream world that is not totally clear in its images and messages.
